Olaf's Blue Slushie

Slushies are a nice refreshing drink for the hot summer days! This slushy is not only refreshing, but super good! It only takes a couple of ingredients and minutes to put smiles on peoples faces.

(Makes about 4 servings)

You will Need:

4 cups ice

1 cup water

2 cups lemon-lime soda

2 packets blue raspberry lemonade Kool-Aid

1/4 cup sugar

Instructions:

In a high-power blender, blend ice until it is finely crushed, then set aside.

Add lemon-lime soda, Kool-Aid, Water, and sugar into the same blend and pulse until completely combined.

Add ice back to the blender and pulse until combined. Pour into four cups and serve.

*Optional: Add a touch of vanilla ice cream on top! 

Pineapple/Strawberry Dream Whip

Dreaming of Dole Whip? We always are! Enjoy a little bit of Disney magic with you this Fourth of July with this classic treat! You can never go wrong with this one!

You Will Need:

1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream

4 ounces of pineapple juice

2 cups of frozen pineapple

(Makes about 2 servings)

Instructions:

1. Add all of the ingredients to your blender.

2.Blend until smooth. The Dole Whip should have a thick and creamy consistency.

3.Using an icing piping bag or Ziploc bag with a corner trimmed off, pipe your Dole Whip in a swirl into a cup.

PRO TIP: If using a piping bag to swirl your Dole Whip, use a large nozzle as the mixture will be thick. You can also add your mixture to a large Ziploc bag, trim the corner and use the bag to pipe and swirl it.

Store In Freezer: Dole Whip is a frozen dessert similar to frozen yogurt, which makes it best to store in your freezer. Keep it in an airtight container or plastic bag. Keep in mind that this recipe makes a single serving, so there’s not likely to be much leftover!

**To make Strawberry Dole Whip replace Pineapple Juice with Strawberry Juice and replace Frozen Pineapples With Frozen Strawberries.**

Mickey-Shaped Caramel Apples

Your kids will have so much fun helping you make these! Gather them all together and relive the magic together!

You Will Need:

• Store-bought caramels. A 14 oz. bag of pre-wrapped caramels will make about 5 caramel apples. Unwrap the caramels and melt them in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of milk.
• Apples: Your choice of a tart or mild (not overly sweet) apple. Good choices include Granny smith, Fuji, Gala, and McIntosh.
• Fourth of July Sprinkles
• Big Marshmallows (to make the ears)
• Craft sticks: You’ll want to choose sturdy craft sticks for dipping your apples.
• Parchment paper
  
  

Instructions:

1. Clean the apples: Rinse them under very hot water for a few seconds, then scrub dry with a paper towel to help remove the wax around the apple. Place the apples in the fridge at least a day in advance, or while you make the caramel. Chilled apples work best for caramel apples.
2. Prepare your work station: Insert the craft sticks vertically into the apples. Line a pan with parchment paper and place the apples on it. Make space in your fridge to fit the pan. Add all of your toppings to plates or shallow bowls so they are ready to go.
3. Melt the caramel. Melt a 14 oz. bag of pre-wrapped caramels with 2 tablespoons milk. Allow the caramel to cool for 3-5 minutes before dipping.
4. Cut Marshmallows in Half. Stick to the top of the apple to make mickey ears.
5. Dip the apples in caramel: Remove apples from the fridge. Work carefully and quickly to dip the apples, placing them on the parchment lined pan.
6. Add Fourth of July sprinkles. Return the pan of apples to the fridge when you’re finished.

Churros!

Another original treat that is just as fun to make as it is to eat! Gather everyone together again and have them help you make this mouth-watering, cinnamon-y goodness!

What You Will Need:

1 cup water

8 tbsp. butter

¼ tsp. salt

¾ tsp. ground cinnamon, divided

1¼ cups all-purpose flour

3 eggs

1½ cups vegetable or canola oil

½ cup sugar

Instructions:

1. Combine water, butter, salt, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in 1½-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring pot to rolling boil.
2. Reduce heat to low.
3. Add flour and stir vigorously until mix forms a ball. Remove from heat and let rest for 5–7 min.
4. Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside.
5. Heat oil in medium skillet or 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat or until temperature reaches 350˚F.
6. Spoon dough into piping bag fitted with large star tip. Pipe 1-inch strip of dough over saucepan, cut with knife, and drop into hot oil. Repeat until churro bites fill saucepan with room to fry.
7. Fry churro bites until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon or mesh spider strainer.
8. Drain churro bites on paper towel.
9. Mix sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in medium bowl. Toss in churro bites until coated.
10. Place on serving plate and serve with favorite dipping sauce.
